The security industry is a growth area in the UK, with the demand for well-trained staff to work at entertainment venues, events and other commercial premises increasing all the time.
To be able to work in the field of private security in the UK (including Door Supervision, Security Guarding, CCTV etc.), you will need to hold a current and valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence. For this, you have to take an accredited QCF L2 qualification in the relevant job role you wish to work in.
In March 2012, the SIA announced that it will be a requirement for all existing door supervisors who achieved the pre-QCF qualification (such as the National Certificate for Door Supervision) to undertake additional training in order to renew their licences.
The content of all qualifications has recently been reviewed and updated as of January 2015 (including Unit 4 Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry.)
N Davies Training is licensed by NFPS Ltd to deliver Unit 4 Physical Intervention Skills which is an essential part of SIA Door Supervisor training.
Do you run a security business? As a provider of security services, you may need to provide additional training and development to your staff in order to meet your legal obligations under health & safety and other statutory legislation, as well as ensuring that they have the right skills and abilities to deal with the challenges and issues unique to their particular workplace. N Davies Training can provide additional NFPS physical intervention training suited to your requirements.
SIA Level 2 qualifications are also available through Exclusive Training for all persons wishing to qualify for SIA licensing. For more info, click on the logo below:
